About the Great Lakes PTTC
The Great Lakes Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) is located at the UW-Madison Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies. We are funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to provide training and technical assistance services to the substance misuse prevention field.
The Great Lakes PTTC will provide high-value training and technical assistance targeted to local needs in Health and Human Services Region 5: IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, and WI.
Our goals are to:
- Accelerate the adoption and implementation of evidence-based practices in substance misuse prevention practices
- Heighten the awareness, knowledge, and skills of the substance misuse prevention workforce
- Develop strategies for delivering culturally-informed prevention practices with diverse practitioners, researchers, policy makers, and communities
- Increase access to publicly available, free-of-charge training and technical assistance for the substance misuse prevention field
