Opioid Misuse in Older Adults: Free Upcoming Webinar from Indiana State Department of Health
Opioid misuse in older adults in a growing concern in communities across the country. According to a research protocol published by The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ):
For adults aged 65 and older, opioid-related hospitalizations increased by 34% and emergency department visits increased by 74% between 2010 and 2015.
In addition, NSDUH data published in 2014 suggest that opioid misuse is increasing among older adults.
