Save the Date: 2021 Intermountain Tribal & Rural Opioid Wellness Summit
The 2021 Intermountain Tribal & Rural Opioid Wellness Summit: Bridging Harm Reduction & Recovery in Rural Communities will offer best practices, community panels, and opioid harm reduction education via Zoom, Tuesday, May 18, through Thursday, May 20, 2021.
Utah State University, Utah Department of Human Services Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, and the Rural Health Association of Utah are co-sponsoring the “SUMMIT for ALL” event. PARCKA will be presenting a workshop around our maternal health research in rural Utah. Come see our talk this May!
Guests will hear from leading researchers, service providers, and community members as they discuss the intersection of opioids, mental health, and well-being. Our goal is to inform and strengthen rural and tribal prevention, treatment and recovery services through increased understanding of harm reduction, stigma and supportive recovery environments.
The FREE summit offers tools and training to professionals and community members. The first 200 Utah and New Mexico participants will receive a Summit Wellness Box prior to the event. Boxes include presenter materials, wellness activities, and community resource materials.
