On April 7, 2022, at 2 p.m. EST, SAMHSA’s Underage Drinking Prevention Education Initiatives will launch a brand new virtual educational webinar series, “Communities Talk About: Young Adult Leadership in Addressing Intersectionality to Advance Prevention.”  Participants can join this session to explore the value of prevention strategies developed within the context of the intersectional and lived experiences of youth/young adults and how young adult leaders often drive the success of those strategies. Panelists will discuss how prevention strategies can more effectively engage youth and young adults who self-identify across racial, ethnic, gender-based, and other communities. Hosted by SAMHSA’s Marion Pierce and Moderated by Rich Lucey, Senior Prevention Program Manager at the Drug Enforcement Administration, the virtual event will feature experts from youth and young adult-led organizations such as Young People in Recovery, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD Nation), and Youth MOVE National.

This is a free, 1-hour virtual discussion that will take place on Zoom. Attendees will need to register using this link.
