Prevention Experience:
- Completion of 2000 hours of verified prevention work experience
- This work experience must be within the past 10 years
Supervised Prevention Experience:
- One hundred and twenty (120) hours of direct supervised work experience with 10 hours of direct supervision in each domain
- One Supervisor Evaluation
Educational / Training Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One hundred fifty (150) clock hours of training within the past 10 years (100 hours Prevention specific and 50 hours ATOD specific) with a minimum of 12 hours in each domain
- 6 hours of Prevention Ethics training
- A maximum of 40 hours of on-line ATOD/Prevention training will be accepted for initial certification. A maximum of 40 hours of in-house training will be accepted for initial certification. In-house training is defined as “by employee for employee”
- All training must have been attended within the past 10 years.
Examination: A passing score on the ICRC/AODA Prevention Specialist written examination
