Ending the HIV Epidemic: Where are We Now and Where are We Going?

The Peer Recovery Center of Excellence (PR CoE) recently received SAMHSA funding to provide training and technical assistance to support Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) grantees with integrating peer recovery support services into their existing HIV prevention and treatment approaches.

In 2019, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services initiated the Ending the HIV Epidemic plan to end HIV in America by 2030. Since then, efforts have been made across the nation to reach various milestones, including reducing new HIV infections by 75% in 5 years and by 90% in 10 years.

The purpose of this webinar is to give Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) grantees an overview of where we are as a nation based on the efforts made thus far and to provide a projection of where we can go from here.

The discussion will also include how communities are engaged in EHE efforts across the nation.

This event is intended to be interactive, so please be prepared to share your experiences, comments and questions about EHE and how it impacts your area. Upon the completion of this workshop, the participants will be able to:

• Better understand national approaches to EHE strategies and implementation efforts;
• Describe EHE community engagement strategies and implementation efforts;
• Understand community-based EHE initiatives and how to become further engaged in EHE efforts.
• Understand the national impact of EHE efforts on communities of color.
