This webinar will highlight findings from SAMHSA’s guide titled, Implementing Community-Level Policies to Prevent Alcohol Misuse, which explores evidence-based, community-level strategies to prevent alcohol misuse. Following an overview of the goals of SAMHSA’s Evidence-Based Resource Guide Series by SAMHSA’s Robert Vincent, MSEd, the guide’s subject matter expert, David Jernigan, PhD, of the Boston University School of Public Health, will discuss the development of the guide. Alicia Sparks, PhD, will provide an overview of the framing of the guide and effective prevention policies that can be implemented at the local, state, tribal, and/or territorial levels. Key considerations and strategies for implementing and evaluating these policies will be discussed, along with equity implications of each policy. Representatives from organizations featured in the guide’s case studies will discuss implementation of policies in their community to prevent alcohol misuse. The webinar will close with information about how to access the guide.
