The Mid-America PTTC would like to invite you to participate in a training program covering SAMHSA’s Prevention Core Competencies, September 23-25th, 2024.

Training and ToT Agenda

The curriculum covers substance use prevention fundamentals for early to mid-career prevention professionals. The program is designed to provide an introduction to prevention science and a roadmap to further education and professional development.

Subject matter for the training will cover a wide variety of topics including:

● Prevention theories, models, and techniques

● Foundational knowledge on substance use disorders and mental health

● Ethical practice

Why Focus on LGBTQ+ People

Join us for a multi-part podcast series during Pride Month 2024. Starting June 6th our conversation is "Why Focus on LGBTQ+ People", with Angela Weeks, Project Director for SAMHSA’s Center of Excellence on LGBTQ+ Behavioral Health Equity. Angela brings extensive national experience creating, implementing, and evaluating programs and initiatives that improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people and communities, and extensive experience supporting LGBTQ+ populations experiencing homelessness and the juvenile justice system.
