Stress has a significant impact on Hispanic/Latinx populations, and is related to the use and misuse of illicit substances and alcohol. The accumulation of Covid19 and other sources of cultural stressors may be especially profound during the upcoming holiday period. This presentation and accompanying factsheets will provide and overview of recent developments in research and practice that focus on stress, acculturation stress, and resilience among Hispanic/Latinx populations. Strategies for helping our communities and our clients to be resilient in the face of acculturation stress and COVID19 related stress will be discussed.
