The shifting landscape in emergency management since the COVID 19 pandemic has created a situation where we cannot ignore the ongoing health crisis of substance misuse in our communities. The health crisis of substance misuse has many components, but in order for us to better respond to the needs of individuals struggling with addiction, we need to have a foundational understanding. This learning session will include an overview of the intersection between substance misuse and emergency response, a highlight of current health trends related to substance misuse, an introduction to the social determinants of health, and much more!
