Title: Certified Prevention Specialist

Examination: Pass IC&RC written examination

Educational / Training Requirements:

  • 100 clock hours in prevention core areas; 6 hours of this training must be in Prevention Ethics; 50 hours of this training must be ATOD specific within the last 2 years.
  • 120 hours in prevention core areas

Prevention Experience: One year, or 2,000 hours paid or volunteer ATOD prevention experience within the last 5 years.

Additional Requirements/Information: Video of PC giving class or complete Lesson Plan on a topic selected from a list provided by the Certification Committee

Pre- IC&RC Certification Level Requirements: Associate Certified Prevention Professional (ACPP)

Certification & Licensing Board: Army Center for Substance Abuse Programs (ACSAP)
