Prevention Track: Know the New England State Epidemiolocal Outcome Workgroup (HHS Region 1)

Getting to Know the New England State Epidemiolocal Outcome Workgroup (SEOW) Coordinators – How Can Prevention Specialists Utilize Their Services?

In this session, you will have the opportunity to learn from a panel of New England State Epidemiolocal Outcome Workgroup (SEOW) Coordinators from Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont as they speak to the work of their SEOW in their respective states and how you as a prevention specialist can utilize their services to inform your prevention work in your communities. You will also have the opportunity to join a breakout session with your state’s SEOW Coordinator to ask state-specific questions tailored to your prevention data needs.

About SEOWs: SEOWs are networks of people and organizations that bring analytical and other data competencies to substance abuse prevention and tailor their work to meet the specific needs of states. The overall goal for SEOWs is to use data to inform and enhance state and community decisions regarding substance abuse and mental illness prevention programs, practices, and policies, as well as promote positive behavioral and mental health. Guided by the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), SEOWs examine, interpret, and apply data to inform prevention planning and decision-making.
