Sustainability Planning Series

Series Goal

Upon completion of the Series participants will develop a Sustainability Plan for their organization.

Series Objectives

Sustainability Plans developed by participating organizations that will include strategies to:

• Build committed relationships with community champions, partners and stakeholders to support their organization and initiatives
• Implement effective organizational structures and processes that will be sustained over the long-term
• Determine and communicate long-term outcomes to be achieved, evaluated and sustained by the organization
• Identify a diversified set of resources to support the organization’s initiatives over the next 5 years

Audience

Idaho substance use prevention coalitions, grantees and service providers.

Session 4 – April 24, 2023
Session 5 – May 15, 2023
Session 6 – June 12, 2023

Trainer

Dave Shavel, has extensive experience in the prevention of substance use and misuse at the community, state, and federal levels as a community organizer, coalition director, trainer / TA provider, and state prevention manager.  Dave specializes in the areas of strategic planning; needs, resource, and readiness assessment; cultural competence, prevention program planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainability; and community and state capacity building.

Participant Commitments

Individuals/organizations participating in the series will commit to:

1. Complete a pre-Training Organization Sustainability Questionnaire
2. Actively participate in the 6 scheduled 90-minute training sessions
3. Complete a (first draft) Sustainability Plan
4. Attend networking / TA sessions (voluntary)

Certificates

Up to 9 hours of continuing education hours can be earned in this series. Participants will need to confirm with their state certification board to determine if these hours are accepted towards their specific certification requirements.
