The New England PTTC was recently tabling at the New England Rural Health Conference where we got to meet and become connected with another great resource for New England, the New England Region affiliate of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, funded by the U.S. National Institute on Health.  As is described on their website, the goal of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) is to advance the progress of medicine and improve public health by providing U.S. health professionals with equal access to biomedical information and improving individuals' access to information to enable them to make informed decisions about their health.

The network is comprised of eight Health Sciences Libraries, which function as the Regional Medical Library (RML) for their respective region. The RMLs coordinate the operation of a Network of Libraries and other organizations to carry out regional and national programs. The New England Region RML is based in Worcester, Massachusetts at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The RMLs ensure a continuity of quality service for core programs of the NNLM, and cooperatively design, implement and evaluate innovative approaches to serve the health information needs of health professionals and a diverse public.

As one major objective, the New England Region (NER) is working to provide education to those in their network about Substance Use Disorder through a series of webinars with expert presenters. The NER has several webinars coming up in early December that are open and available to the public. One that will be of particular interest for our prevention workforce will feature the President of the Partnership of Drug-Free Kids and Center on Addiction, Fred Meunch.  Keep on reading for the description of the webinar and how you can participate:
