Addressing Mental Health Issues Among Children, Staff, and Families in Tribal Early Childhood Programs

Please join this Administration for Children and Families (ACF) webinar to learn about addressing mental health issues among children, staff, and families in tribal early childhood programs. This webinar is the first in a series of meetings on topics related to implementation and coordination of early childhood programs in American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. Mental and behavioral health issues have been of growing concern to tribal early childhood programs in recent years, as programs and communities see increasing need for services and supports among young children, their families, and the providers who work with them. The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened many of the existing challenges by introducing additional trauma, stress, and isolation to AI/AN communities. During this webinar, participants will hear an overview of issues related to mental health in early childhood programs, followed by a panel highlighting innovations and promising practices being implemented in tribal communities. Participants will then be able to learn more about and discuss highlighted strategies with peers and hear about resources they can use in their own communities to support children, families, and staff.
