What is it?
 


Cultural competence is the process of communicating with audiences from diverse geographic, ethnic, racial, cultural, economic, social, and linguistic backgrounds. Becoming culturally competent is a dynamic process that requires cultural knowledge and skill development at all service levels, including policymaking, administration, and practice.

Self-paced Course: Intro to 508 Compliance: Understanding the Importance of Accessibility in Prevention 
In this HealtheKnowledge course created by the PTTC Network's Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Practices Workgroup, the Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is discussed along with the importance of providing accessible educational materials to the prevention work. Participants will learn how to Identify ways to increase Section 508 compliance within their own work.
