It is of critical importance for every practitioner to understand key concepts and approaches to achieving environmental change in substance misuse prevention. It is even more essential to understand how those approaches play out in practice. Join us for this two-part webinar series that will explore real world opportunities for and obstacles to implementing environmental change strategies (ECS).
In Session One, we will briefly revisit core foundational environmental change concepts, including types and examples of ECS, before diving into considerations around selecting and implementing environmental strategies, including alignment with identified issues, community capacity, and cultural appropriateness, among others. We'll also examine the challenges of implementing ECS, particularly when working with highly specified populations of focus, and will walk through a true-to-life scenario that speaks to the ins and outs of implementing ECS across the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) process. Participants will receive two case studies to review and complete between sessions
