Presenter: Lee Anne Dodge. Lee Anne Dodge is a certified prevention specialist with over twenty years of experience working with youth. She is the Program Director of SoPo Unite- A Drug Free Communities Coalition in South Portland Maine.

Parents are the number one influence on a young person’s life and can have a powerful impact on preventing substance use. By starting the conversation early with your child, and continuing the conversation through the teen years, you can help prevent substance use. Strong, supportive relationships with an adult can provide a young person with much needed support for ensuring sturdy brain development and the ability to make good decisions. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how substance use can impact the young brain in both the short and long term and key strategies for prevention.
