The populations of focus are all individuals in need of prevention services within Region 4 (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee). The population will be reached by timely, high-quality delivery of training and technical assistance services to individuals and organizations in the substance misuse prevention field. Consumers of these services will include prevention professionals and pre-professionals, organizations, and other stakeholders. Stakeholders will include community-based organizations (including community prevention coalitions), faith-based organizations, social service groups, consumers, family members, and state-level organizations. The latter will include statewide prevention coalitions and nonprofits and the single state agency responsible for substance abuse prevention in each state in Region 4. Our team has extensive experience in multiple areas of prevention, both in types of intervention strategies (e.g., environmental strategies) and populations served (e.g., communities of color; rural populations).
