Elizabeth Suddath, MPH, is the Assistant Deputy Superintendent of Student Support at the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Elizabeth leads the divisions of comprehensive school counseling, prevention and intervention services, and school-based mental health. Through this position, she champions increasing all Oklahoma schools' access to training, coaching, and technical assistance. In addition, she serves as the project director for eight federal grants that aim to build comprehensive violence prevention, crisis preparedness, trauma-informed systems, and mental-emotional-behavioral multi-tiered systems of support for schools and communities. Elizabeth also collaborates across the agency, among other state partners, and with districts to ensure the support of all students. In her previous position, she served as the Executive Director of Prevention Services and School Climate Transformation, where she implemented comprehensive prevention programming. Serving schools and bringing trauma awareness to Oklahoma has been the most rewarding and humbling aspect of her roles at the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
